Women's Golf Finishes Third at Quinnipiac Classic
Senior Sarah Boden leads CCSU and ties for 11th place
The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a third round score of 313 and finished in third place of 11 teams at the Quinnipiac Classic which finished on Tuesday. Senior Sarah Boden who 234 and finished in a tie for 11th place overall. The tournament was held at the New Haven Country Club in Hamden, CT.
Boden shot a team-best score of 76 on Tuesday, matching her second round score of 76 from Monday. She also shot 82 in the first round. She finished tied for 11th place overall.
All five Blue Devils finished in the top 23, led by Boden. Sophomore Tara Whelan shot 77 on Tuesday and finished at 236, good for a tie for 16th place overall. Junior Ella Williams also tied for 16th place after shooting an 83 on the final day.
Junior Kaitlyn Stoddart was the third Blue Devils to shoot 236 overall and tie for 16th place, shooting 79 on Tuesday after rounds of 77 and 80 on Monday.
Sophomore Cecy Gutierrez shot 81 on Tuesday and finished at 240, good for a tie for 23rd place overall.
Albany won the title with a three round score of 927, just seven shots ahead of CCSU. Sacred Heart was second at 931, followed by CCSU (934), Quinnipiac (943) and Monmouth (944) rounded out the top five.
