Women's Golf Tied for Fourth at Sacred Heart Women's Invitational
Ella Williams leads CCSU with round one score of 79
The Central Connecticut women's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place overall after the first day of the Sacred Heart Women's Invitational on Saturday. The tournament is being held at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT.
The Blue Devils shot a day one score of 332, and are tied with Siena College for fourth place in the six team field. Sacred Heart leads the field with a score of 316, followed by Wagner (324), Hartford (329), CCSU and Siena, and then Fairfield (340).
Junior Ella Williams shot a round on score of 79 to lead the Blue Devils, she is tied for third place overall. Junior Kaitlyn Stoddart shot an 81 and sits in a tie for eighth place.
Senior Sarah Boden is tied for 21st place overall after a round one score of 85. Sophomore Cecy Gutierrez (87) and classmate Tara Whelan (88) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils after round one.
Round two will take place on Sunday morning.
