Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Seahawk Invitational
Cecy Gutierrez finishes seventh overall for CCSU
The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a second day score of 326 and finished in fourth place out of nine teams in the Seahawk Invitational hosted by Wagner College on Monday. Central shot a day one score of 323 and finished with a two day total of 649, 12 shots back of tournament winner Dartmouth College.
Sophomore Cecy Gutierrez finished in seventh place overall and shot a two day score of 158 (79-79) for the Blue Devils. Senior Sarah Boden shot an 82 on Monday, finishing with a score of 162, good for a tie for 12th place overall.
Junior Ella Williams followed up an 88 on Sunday with an 11-stroke improvement, shooting a team best score of 77 on Monday. Her total of 165 was good for a tie for 18th place overall.
Sophomore Tara Whelan shot an 88 on Monday and finished in a tie for 21st place with a two-day total of 168. Junior Kaitlyn Stoddart shot 95 on Monday and finished in 33rd place with a score of 179.
Dartmouth finished first with a score of 637, followed by Wagner (638), Albany (642) and the Blue Devils (649). St. Francis U was fifth (659) followed by Niagara (700), St. Francis Brooklyn (704) and LIU Brooklyn (756).
Central returns to action on Saturday, April 9 at the Hartford Classic at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT. The tournament finishes on Sunday, April 10.
