Second year coach Jeff Franquet was pleased with the turn out at this years game, "We can't thank the Alumni enough for all of their support, and dedication to our program. This is the second year in a row we have done the Alumni game and the turnout gets bigger every year. We are looking forward to next year being even bigger."
As much as this game was about the current players improving their on field skills, it was also about building a program in Franquet's eyes. A message he delivered to the alumni in a way that will stay with them.
"We put the words 'connecting the past with the future' on the back of their t-shirts. We feel like the only way we can turn this program around is to get the Alumni involved with our program in every facet. We hope they will all come to our games in the spring, and continue support Blue Devils Softball."
The Blue Devils finished last season, the first under Franquet, with a record of 19-31. The 19 wins were the most by a Central softball team since 1994.
The Blue Devils look to continue to improve on the field and in the classroom this year.
