Swimming and Diving Competes at ECAC Winter Championships on Saturday
Blue Devils will return to action on Jan. 12 at Florida International
Several members of the Central Connecticut swimming and diving team competed at the 2018 ECAC Winter Championships on Saturday night.
Senior Aidan Devers finished 11th overall in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:40.02. Junior teammate Gracie Regan was just behind in 12th place with a time of 4:40.38. Freshman Alex Lindgren finished in 21st place in the same event with a time of 4:46.03. Classmate Mariana Espino finished in 37th place with a time of 4:57.56.
Junior Valentina Gomez finished in 23rd place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.73. Sophomore Katelyn Mann finished in 59th place with a time of 1:02.85. Junior Grace Fredricks and sophomore Erin Brown finished the same race with times of 1:06.14 and 1:06.44 respectively.
Freshman Katie Czulewicz finished 19th in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:57.84. Classmate Jeannette King was 23rd in 1:58.40 and senior Kaitlyn Troy was 28th in 1:58.78. Gomez finished 50th with a time of 2:01.62.
Regan finished 31st in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.61 while Lindgren was 36th in 1:10.02. Espino came in 44th with a time of 1:11.05. Mann was 50th in 1:12.36.
Troy finished 23rd in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 1:00.93 while Devers (1:01.66) and King (1:01.71) were 27th and 28th respectively. Czulewicz finished 36th in 1:02.30.
The squad of Troy, Lindgren, Gomez and King finished 15th in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:03.96. Devers, Regan, Mann and Czulewicz finished 24th in 4:13.24.
