KEY MOMENTS
- After sending a few shots towards goal, CCSU had a breakaway oppurtunity 19 minutes into the match. Redshirt freshman Kelly Brady dribbled her way past the defense all the way into Wagner's zone and sent a cross into the box to junior forward Abbey Chase. Chase recieved it in stride and sent in an easy kick past Wagner's keeper, putting CCSU up 1-0.
- The Blue Devils almost struck again just a few minutes later. Senior forward Tess Atkinson sent a header just a few inches high of the goal.
- Both teams had a few scoring chances before heading into the half, but the score sat 1-0 into the break.
- CCSU was hungry for another goal going into the second half. They had seven straight shots during one particular stretch, with one particularly heartbreaking shot from Erica Bardes that rang off the cross bar.
- Zoe McGlynn, CC Rosario and Brady each had shots in the second that sailed just a few inches too high of the net.
- After having some offensive woes through for most of the match, the Seahawks made the Blue Devils sweat out the final few minutes and made Amanda McQuillan work hard for the shut out.
- One Wagner shot rang off the post with six minutes remaining, inches away from disaster. McQuillan was able to corral the rebound off the post as a sigh of relief swept through the CCSU crowd and CCSU's bench.
- McQuillan had another shot come close to her late. She was able to swat this one away.
