KEY MOMENTS
- Senior Erica Bardes was looking to get the Blue Devils on the board early. She started off the offensive attack with a shot just 41 seconds into this one.
- The Warriors did not get many chances on offense in the first. For the ones they did get, junior goalkeeper Amanda McQuillan was all over it. She had a number of nice saves throughout the game, including one coming off of a corner that McQuillan got some major air for.
- CCSU kept peppering Merrimack's keeper and were just shy of converting before the half. Freshman Aoife Horgan and McLaughlin each had great chances that the Warriors' keeper was able to contain.
- Merrimack switched keepers at the half, but the Blue Devils' offense remained the same: sending shot after shot at the net.
- With time winding down, Sydnie Dorman sent a pass up to McLaughlin up top. The junior lined up from deep and fired away, sending one streaking just over the hands over Merrimack's keeper.
- The CCSU defense made sure to quiet any chance of a comeback after this, with some help from the offense. The Blue Devils had five more shots after McLaughlin's goal.
NOTES
- Though the score was close, the Blue Devils' offense was on the attack most of the night. They outshot the Warriors 29-6.
- McLaughlin's goal moved her into first on the team in goals and points (10). Kelly Brady trails her by one in both categories.
