Aoife Horgan Wins Rookie and Player of the Week
After a five point performance last weekend, freshman forward Aoife Horgan was named both the Rookie and Player of the week by the Northeast Conference.
Horgan started off her performance Sunday with an assist to Kelly Brady that put the Blue Devils up 2-0. A few minutes later, Horgan decided to join in on the fun and scored a goal of her own. The score was Horgan's first as a Blue Devil.
Once Horgan got a case of the scoring bug, she would not be stopped at one. In the second half, Horgan was able to sneak another shot past St. Francis's goal keeper, finishing her day with a very efficient two shots and two goals.
After the busy day on the road, Horgan's numbers put her at third on the team in both goals and points (points is a tie between Horgan and Erica Bardes).
Horgan and the Blue Devils will continue the season Thursday in a match at Bryant.
