Monday's Honor Marks The Third Time This Season She Has Earned Player of the Week Accolades
For the third time this season, graduate student guard Belle Lanpher has been selected as the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her outstanding play that took place in games from January 24-February 2, 2025. She shares this week's honor with FDU's Ava Renninger.
Lanpher helped propel the Blue Devils to a 71-59 comeback home victory over Stonehill on Saturday in the team's only action last week, as she led all scorers in the contest with 26 points. Belle also grabbed three rebounds, dished off three assists and had three steals on Saturday.
Her 26 points moved her into fourth place on the CCSU women's basketball all-time scoring list with 1314 career points.
Lanpher has now scored over 20 points in six straight games, as she is averaging 23.0 points per game this season.
Teammate, Selina Monestime was also recognized this week by the NEC with her selection as a Prime Performer, as she scored 14 of her 16 points in Saturday's win in the second half, including a run of eight points midway through the fourth quarter that gave the Blue Devils a lead which they never relinquished. Monestime also pulled down a team-best six rebounds in the win over the Skyhawks.
The CCSU women's basketball squad returns to the court this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. when the Blue Devils close out a three-game homestand against conference leader, FDU.
