
Blue Devils Return Home To Host Bryant On Tuesday Night
Three CCSU Players Averaging In Double-Digit Scoring Through Three Games
The Blue Devils will look to snap a three-game, season-opening losing streak on Tuesday night when the Bryant University Bulldogs (2-0) come to Detrick Gymnasium on the CCSU campus for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference clash. Central fell at UMass on Sunday afternoon in a tight contest, 66-60, after beginning their home slate on Thursday evening with a 78-64 loss to Manhattan. In their season opener on November 4, the Blue Devils dropped an 89-48 decision at the Big Ten's University of Minnesota.

The Blue Devils and Bulldogs have met a total of 30 times in their all-time series with Bryant holding a 17-13 edge in victories. Last season Bryant won a hard-fought 72-69 contest in Smithfield, Rhode Island on November 17, 2023. CCSU topped Bryant in their last meeting in New Britain on December 3, 2022 by a 58-54 score.
LOOKING BACK AT SUNDAY'S GAME…
• The CCSU women's basketball team battled the host Minutewomen of the University of Massachusetts on Sunday, but the Blue Devils came up on the short end of a tight 66-60 contest that was a back-and-forth affair that saw eight lead changes and six ties on the afternoon
• Graduate student Meghan Kenefick led Central in scoring on Sunday with a career-best 17 points. She was joined in double figures by red-shirt freshman Selina Monestime with 15 points and junior Alonna Sellers added 12 points. Sellers also finished with a double-double pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds
• Central dished off a season-high 14 assists on Sunday led by Amaya Williams who had a total of five. Kenefick had four assists versus UMass, and Dagny Slomack added three helpers.
• The Blue Devils finished with a 33-29 edge on the glass on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION ...
• The Bryant University Bulldogs are members of the America East Conference and enter Tuesday's game with a 2-0 record following a 65-50 season-opening home win over Merrimack and an 80-57 triumph in Smithfield in their last outing on November 8 against Division III Bridgewater State University.
• Ali Brigham leads three Bulldogs in double-figure scoring so far this season at 18.0 points per game. Mia Mancini and Maranda Nyborg are next in scoring averaging 11.0 ppg. Brigham had 19 points and eight rebounds in the win over Bridgewater State, and Nyborg had 13 points.
• Brigham is averaging nearly a double-double per game, as she also leads Bryant on the boards grabbing 9.0 rebounds per game. Nyborg is second in rebounding averaging 7.0 boards per game.
• As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging 72.5 points and 49.0 rebounds per outing, and they are allowing the opposition 53.5 points per game plus opponents are pulling down an average of 35.5 rebounds per game.
• Bryant is led by head coach Lynne-Ann Kokoski, who is in her second season as her alma mater's head coach. Last season, the Bulldogs posted an even 15-15 overall record.

• CCSU's number two ranking in the Preseason Northeast Conference Coaches' Poll is the highest ranking in program history.
• Graduate student Meghan Kenefick leads the team in scoring and is second on the squad in rebounding averaging 13.3 points and 6.7 boards. Meghan also leads the Blue Devils in total assists with 10 through three outings.
• Freshman Selina Monestime is next in scoring averaging 12.3 points per game, and she is grabbing an average of 6.0 rebounds per game. Monestime has done a fine job shooting the ball so far this year, as she connected on 50.0 percent of shots, going 13-of-26 from the floor.
• Junior Alonna Sellers is a third Blue Devil averaging double digits in scoring at 10.0 points per game. Sellers leads CCSU on the glass so far in 2024-25 averaging 8.3 rebounds per game.
• Freshman Dagny Slomack is averaging just under double figures at 9.7 ppg.
• For their outstanding play last week, Meghan Kenefick and Alonna Sellers were named to the NEC Prime Performers list.
• As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 57.3 points per game and allowing the opposition to score an average of 77.7 points per game. On the boards, Central is pulling down an average of 33.0 rebounds per game; while the opposition is averaging 35.7 rebounds per contest.
