Four CCSU Players Reach Double Figures For The Second Straight Game
The Central Connecticut State women's basketball team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, as the Blue Devils never trailed in the game, as they posted a 67-50 home NEC victory over the visiting LeMoyne College Dolphins. With the win, Central is now 5-15 overall and 4-3 in conference play. LeMoyne slips to 2-17 overall and 2-4 in the NEC. For the second straight outing, four Blue Devils reached double-digit scoring led by graduate student Belle Lanpher who finished with a game-high 20 points. She was joined in double figures by senior Amaya Williams with 13 points, nine of which came in the fourth quarter, and freshman Dagny Slomack and graduate student Meghan Kenefick each had 12 points for the winners. Kenefick and Kayla Henry led Central in rebounding on Saturday, as they each grabbed six boards. Haedyn Roberts led three LeMoyne players in double figures with 16 points, and she finished with a game-high eight rebounds.

- Amaya Williams put CCSU on the board first with a basket at the 9:08 mark of play, and Dagny Slomack would follow that with a pair of triples to up the Blue Devils' lead to 8-0.
- A Belle Lanpher bucket with 6:36 to play in the first quarter increased the Central lead to 10-0 forcing LeMoyne to call a timeout.
- LeMoyne would then go on a 10-0 run of its own to tie the contest with 2:40 to play in the opening frame.

Belle Lanpher led all scorers in the contest with 13 points over the opening 20 minutes with teammates Meghan Kenefick and Dagny Slomack chipping in six points apiece. Zhara Adeyemi led LeMoyne in the first half with eight points off the Dolphins' bench.
- LeMoyne would cut the Central led to four at 36-32 with 5:49 to go in the third quarter forcing the Blue Devils to call a timeout.
- After the timeout, the hosts responded with back-to-back baskets to move their advantage back to eight, 40-32, at the third quarter media timeout with 3:51 to go in the period.
- After trailing by eight at the half, the Dolphins outscored the Blue Devils, 16-13, in the third quarter to make the score 43-38 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
- The Blue Devils would take a 15-point lead at 56-41 on five straight points from Amaya Williams capped off by a layup at the 5:09 mark of the final quarter.

- With her game-high 20 points on Saturday, Belle Lanpher is only three points away from moving into sixth place on CCSU's all-time women's basketball scoring list. She has a total of 1288 career points heading into next Saturday's game versus Stonehill. Belle has reached double figures in all 10 games she has played this season and a total of 12 straight outings dating back to last season. So far in 2024-25, Lanpher is averaging 22.7 points per game. She was a perfect 7-of-7 from the foul line in Saturday's win to make her season free percentage 93.5 % (58-of62). Saturday was also another solid all-around game for the Massachusetts native, as she finished with five rebounds, four assists and one steal with no turnovers.
- Speaking of turnovers, CCSU committed a season low eight miscues on Saturday.
- Meghan Kenfick has hit double-digit scoring eight times this year with her 12 points against the Dolphins.
- Dagny Slomack has now reached double figures in 10 games so far this season; while Amaya Williams has accomplished that same feat seven times during the 2024-25 campaign, as they both have reached double digits in back-to-back games.
- Kayla Henry had a season-best three blocked shots on Saturday, as the Blue Devils finished with a season-high five blocks in the win.
- Central won the battle of the boards against the LeMoyne by a margin of 40-28. 15 of CCSU rebounds came on the offensive glass leading to 15 second chance points. CCSU has now outrebounded the opposition in six straight games.
- Saturday's victory is the Blue Devils first triumph over LeMoyne, as the Dolphins won the first two meetings in history between the two teams last year.
- CCSU celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday.
