Central Women Return Home To Square Off Versus Siena On Tuesday
Game Set For A 4:00 p.m. Tip
The Central Connecticut State women's basketball team returns to Detrick Gym on Tuesday afternoon when the Blue Devils host the Saints of Siena College (0-4) in a non-conference contest. Central will be looking for its first win of the season, as the Blue Devils fell to 0-6 so far this year with an 82-54 loss at Fairfield last Wednesday evening.

Tuesday's matchup will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2014-15 season, when the Saints defeated CCSU in Loudonville, New York, 79-57. Siena leads the all-time series, 4-3. CCSU captured the last meeting in New Britain between the two schools, 70-53, on December 3, 2013.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT FAIRFIELD ....
• The host Fairfield University Stags raced out to a 9-0 lead to open the game and never trailed on the night on their way to an 84-52 win over the visiting Blue Devils last Wednesday night.
• Freshman Selina Monestime led Central in scoring on Wednesday with 15 points, and she was joined in double figures by classmate Dagny Slomack and graduate student Meghan Kenefick, who each chipped in 11 points on the evening. Monestime and Kayla Henry led the Blue Devils in the rebounding department versus the Stags, as they each grabbed five boards.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION ....
• The Siena College Saints are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and enter Tuesday's play with a 0-4 record after a 90-51 loss at Fordham on Saturday night. Siena opened the season with a 66-56 home loss to Army West Point followed by road losses versus Washington (91-54) and Penn (78-47).
• Junior Teresa Seppala led the Saints in scoring at Fordham with 15 points, and she added five rebounds in her season debut.
• Graduate student Ahniysha Jackson is averaging 14.3 points per game so far this year, and senior Anajah Brown rounds out the Saints' double-digit scorer at 10.7 ppg., and Brown is the team's leading rebounder averaging 5.3 boards per game.
• As a team, Siena is averaging 51.3 points and 30.8 rebounds per outing, and they are allowing the opposition 82.0 points per game plus opponents are pulling down an average of 42.3 rebounds per game.
• The Saints are led by head coach Terry Primm, who is in his first season as Siena's head coach. Last season, Siena posted an 18-12 overall mark and a 14-6 MAAC record.

• CCSU's number two ranking in the Preseason Northeast Conference Coaches' Poll is the highest ranking in program history.
• Graduate student Meghan Kenefick leads the team in scoring and is second on the squad in rebounding averaging 11.8 points and 5.0 boards per game.
• Freshman Selina Monestime is next in scoring averaging in double figures at 10.5 points per game, and she is grabbing an average of 4.3 rebounds per game.
• Junior Alonna Sellers leads CCSU on the boards so far in 2024-25 averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. Sellers is also averaging 8.0 points per outing.
• Freshman Dagny Slomack is averaging 9.3 points per game, as she has hit double digits in four games so far this season. Dagny hit 5-of-8 field goals at Fairfield.
• Selina Monestime, Dagny Slomack and Meghan Kenefick have reached double-digit scoring in four the Blue Devils' six games so far this season.
• Freshman Jessica Farrell played all 40 minutes for the Blue Devils for the second consecutive outing on Wednesday night.
• Senior Amaya Williams in the only CCSU player to start every game so far this season.
• As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 55.7 points per game and allowing the opposition to score an average of 74.7 points per game. On the glass, Central is pulling down an average of 32.2 rebounds per game; while the opposition is averaging 37.0 rebounds per contest.
