NEC Releases Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Northeast Conference released its Preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-NEC Team on Wednesday during its broadcast of Media Day for women's basketball. The Blue Devils were tabbed as the tenth team in the poll.
COACHES POLL FULL RELEASE FROM NEC
Mount St. Mary's was the unanimous number one pick in the poll, receiving 10 first-place votes. Last year, the Mount won its first NEC Championship since 1995. The team the Mount defeated in the Championship, Wagner, placed second in the poll.
Interim head coach Kerri Reaves will be at the helm for CCSU for her second full season this year. Reaves has been on the coaching staff for CCSU women's hoops for 16 seasons and was named interim head coach before the start of 2020-2021 season.
CCSU will have three of its starters from last season returning to the court this year (Forever Toppin, Dejah Jenkins and Carly Reynolds) and will also have Ashley Berube returning from an injury suffered last season.
