Blue Devils Drain Threes En Route to Victory over Hartford
Central Connecticut women's basketball took care of business on its home court Friday, defeating the Hartford Hawks 73-50. The Blue Devils were feeling it from deep all game and knocked down 16 threes, the most since at least the 1998-99 season.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils came out of the gates hot against the Hawks as Dejah Jenkins and Claire Sutherland-Case made threes on back-to-back possessions. Two buckets inside from Ashley Berube and a score in the paint from Eden Nibbelink put the cherry on top of a 12-0 run that CCSU started the game with.
- Hartford was able to get on the board after this, but two more threes from Jenkins and Nibbelink dug the hole even further. Belle Lanpher added yet another, and the Blue Devils finished the first quarter with a 23-8 lead.
- Starting things right where they left off, the Blue Devils turned things up even more from deep in the second quarter. CCSU shot made eight shots in the second, seven of which were three pointers. Tacking on another 23 point quarter, CCSU headed into the break up 46-27.
- The Blue Devil offense cooled down a bit in the second half, yet Nibbelink still managed to tack on two more three pointers.
- CCSU spread out its minutes to close things out, but more importantly were still able to hold the Hartford offense back. Both teams shot 37.5 percent from the floor in the fourth.
NOTES
- Nibbelink led the way on offense with 16 points, one shy of her season-high.
- Going into tonight, the most threes the Blue Devils had made in a single game this season eight, half of what they knocked down tonight.
- Nibbelink also recorded a double-double in the game thanks to her game-high 10 rebounds.
- CCSU knocked down 16 of their 37 three point attempts (43.2 percent). Along with the new high in threes made, this is also the highest three point percentage the team has had this season. Its previous high was 40 percent at Syracuse.
