- The Red Flash went on another short run to go ahead again before the first quarter ended, though Dejah Jenkins went on a five-point run on her own to get CCSU to within four.
- After a scoreless first quarter from Lanpher, the guard scored the Blue Devils' first eight points in the second quarter thanks to free throws and two swish threes, giving CCSU its first lead of the day.
- The Blue Devils continued their approach of taking turns on offense, as Forever Toppin scored CCSU's next three baskets that put them up four.
- Another important factor in this run was the defense of Eden Nibbelink, who secured her third block of the night with three minutes left to play in the first half.
- Similar to Lanpher, Ashley Berube shook off the rust from the first quarter and finished the first half in style, scoring seven points and carrying the Blue Devils to a 32-27 halftime lead.
- Though the Blue Devils battled fiercely to take their first lead of the game in the second quarter, the Red Flash were not ready to throw in the towel yet. The third quarter was a back and forth affair, with both teams getting to the line more than they had in the first two quarters. CCSU narrowly escaped the third with a two point lead, thanks to a three pointer from Nibbelink.
- Lanpher was on a mission to get the win for CCSU. The redshirt freshman guard scored nine points in the fourth quarter to ice the game, which came down to the wire after the Red Flash brought it to within a point with two minutes to play, though the Blue Devils hit the free throws they needed to to win it.
