Women's Basketball Halted at the Mount
Central Connecticut State University women's basketball lost its road match to Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, falling to the Mountaineers 64-47.

KEY MOMENTS
- Eden Nibbelink got the day started for CCSU with a jumper in the paint 14 seconds into the contest and it was back-and-forth from then on through the rest of the first. Nibblink hit back-to-back threes soon after, and Berube's second basket of the quarter gave CCSU a 14-13 lead heading into the second.
- Forever Toppin scored four straight points for the Blue Devils to start the second quarter, but the Mountaineers attacked soon after, scoring 12 straight to take a 25-18 lead over CCSU. Berube and Toppin each hit a basket to calm the storm, but the Mount still held a three point lead heading into the break.
- It was a tale of two teams in the third quarter, as the Mount shot their best total of the afternoon (54.5 percent from the floor) while the Blue Devils were only able to knock down two field goals - one coming with 23 seconds left in the quarter. The Mountaineers' three point lead was stretched to 16 in the third.
- Five straight points from Belle Lanpher opened up the final frame on a high note for CCSU, but the Mount kept pushing their lead further. Nibbelink scored eight points in the fourth on two three pointers.
NOTES
- Nibbelink was one point shy of her season high, which she has hit twice this season.
- The Blue Devils shot the ball exceptionally well in the first and fourth quarters (combined 53.85 percent from the floor) but were only able to shoot 18.69 percent in the second and third.
- Nibbelink has shot 50 percent (8-16) from deep over the last three games.
