KEY MOMENTS
- Ashley Berube kept the Blue Devils alive through the early goings of the first quarter. The senior center scored 10 of the Blue Devils' first 13 points with her last bucket bringing CCSU to within two points of the Orange.
- After Berube's last bucket came with five minutes still to play in the first quarter, the Blue Devils were unable to score a basket the rest of the quarter as Syracuse tacked on 13.
- The Blue Devils shot better in the second quarter of play, but turnovers led to even more oppurtunities for the Syracuse offense. The Orange piled on 37 points in the second quarter and forced nine turnovers.
- Nibbelink and Dejah Jenkins drained two quick three's to start the second half. CCSU out rebounded the Orange in the third, but turnovers and fast breaks from Syracuse pushed the Orange's lead further.
- The Blue Devils opened up the fourth the same way they started the third: two quick three's, this time from Claire Sutherland-Case and Belle Lanpher.
- After a free throw from Berube with 1:10 left in the game, neither team scored the rest of the way.
NOTES
- Nibbelink's 17 points are a season high, but also a new career high. Her previous best came last season at Fairfield when she scored 15 points against Hofstra. Nibbelink shot an efficient 7-9 from the floor and 3-4 from deep.
- Toppin notched her first double digit assist game of the season, dishing out 10 dimes in the contest.
- Berube missed out on a double-double by a hair for the FOURTH straight game, securing nine rebounds to go with her 15 points.
- The Orange shot a game high 75% from the floor in the first quarter.
