Blue Devils Get First Win of the Season at Brown
Central Connecticut women's basketball secured its first victory of the season on Thursday on the road against Brown. The Blue Devils had three players score in double digits.
Claire Sutherland-Case dropped a career high 16 points in the effort on five-of-eight shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds to boot for the double-double.

KEY MOMENTS
- An Ashley Berube and-one started the Blue Devils' day on a high note. After the Bears tied things at six, the Blue Devils went on a 7-0 run with five of them coming from Sutherland-Case.
- Berube ended the first quarter on a tear, scoring an easy bucket in the paint with some fancy post moves, blocking the ensuing shot from Brown on the next possession, then draining an easy jumper on the offense.
- The Bears cut into the CCSU lead with a jumper to start the second quarter, but Forever Toppin knocked down a shot from deep. The three ball was flowing for the Blue Devils in the second, Dejah Jenkins drained one after Toppin's three and Belle Lanpher swished another one after that. The Blue Devils headed into the half on a 9-3 run to take a 35-27 lead.
- It was all Blue Devil basketball to start the second half. The Blue Devils snapped off a 14-3 run early where Eden Nibbelink and Sutherland-Case each drained threes. Heading into the final frame, CCSU led by 19.
- The Bears got themselves closer in the fourth with three straight threes, but the Blue Devils were able to hold onto this one for a 67-60 win.

NOTES
- Berube led the way offensively with 17 points on 8-15 shooting, she was also a rebound shy of a double-double.
- Toppin dropped in 10 for CCSU along with seven rebounds, six assists and two steals.
