KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got into an early 11-6 hole in the first quarter Saturday. To combat this, Meghan Kenefick drilled a three, got a steal on the other end and assisted on a Dejah Jenkins three, swinging the pendulum back into CCSU's favor. The Blue Devils grabbed their first lead of the game, but two late free throws gave LIU a 15-14 lead heading into the second quarter.
- CCSU had its worst quarter from the floor in the second, only mustering a 14.3 field goal percentage. The Sharks pounced on this, extending their lead thanks to a number of second chance oppurtunities, and went into the halftime break up by ten.
- The Blue Devils kept clawing back into this one, but the Sharks pulled away at every oppurtunity, maintaining a solid advantage over CCSU. Despite shooting nearly 50 percent in the third, the Blue Devils were unable to make up any ground on LIU and went into the final frame down 50-39.
- Apart from seven fourth quarter points from Belle Lanpher, the Blue Devil offense again could not get much going in the fourth. The defense started clamping down hard on the LIU offense, but was too little too late to make a comeback push.
NOTES
- The Blue Devils were outrebounded 52-29 on Saturday and allowed 22 offensive rebounds.
- Berube's seven points match a season low for the Northeast Conference's leading scorer. Berube led the Blue Devils with eight rebounds.
- Lanpher led CCSU in scoring with 15 points on five-of-nine shooting.
- The Blue Devils were without the services of Nina Davy, Claire Sutherland-Case, Samantha Chadwick and Anglique Rodriguez.
