CCSU Women's Basketball Hosts Fairleigh Dickinson for the Season Opener
The Blue Devils will face the Knights on Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Devils will play back to back games at home on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 4:00 pm and on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 6:00 pm. Both games are against Fairleigh Dickinson, who come in with a record of 3-3, 0-2 NEC. No fans will be allowed to attend the games, but they will stream live for free on NEC Front Row.

CCSU split a pair of games on the road against St. Francis Brooklyn. The Blue Devils took the season opener 87-72 on Monday, while falling 80-77 in a tough loss the following day. Senior Emma McCamus led the team in their victory, tying a career high 30 points on 11-14 shooting. She leads the team in scoring in the early season at 22.0 ppg. Ashley Berube recorded a double-double in both games and scored 23 points in the loss. Freshman Belle Lanpher scored in double figures (12pts) for the first time on Tuesday.
Fairleigh Dickinson lost both of their games at home versus Saint Francis U. Madison Stanley leads the Knights in scoring, averaging 11.5 ppg. Maria Roters is right behind her, coming into the game averaging 10.7 pgg and leads the team in steals with 12.
The Blue Devils currently lead the Northeast Conference in scoring, averaging 82 points per game. The team also leads the NEC in free throw percentage (84.0%) and field goal percentage (46.0%). CCSU has been a defensive force in the paint as well, averaging 11.5 blocks per game which is the best in Division 1. Fairleigh Dickinson leads the NEC in scoring defense, only allowing 58.8 points per game.
With a Win:
• CCSU would snap a four game losing streak vs. FDU, dating back to the 2017-18 season.
• It would be the first time the Blue Devils start 2-1 in conference play since the 2016-17 season.
• Interim Head Coach Kerri Reaves would acquire her first win at home as a head coach.

• Ashley Forker had a well balanced couple of games, averaging 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and only 3 turnovers.

CCSU will have 17 days off until their next game, which is on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 where the team will host Bryant.
