The Blue Devils Announce the Commitment of Two Players for the 2021-22 Season
Nina Davy and Amaya Williams will join CCSU next season.
Head Coach Kerri Reaves has announced the signing of Nina Davy and Amaya Williams. Both players will join the Blue Devils as freshmen for the 2021-22 season.
Nina Davy is a 5'11" wing player who attends National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. "I am beyond excited to have someone like Nina join our program," said Coach Reaves. "She is a tremendous leader both on and off the court. Nina's athleticism and ability to play multiple positions makes her a perfect fit for our system. She is a tremendous offensive rebounder, explosive off the dribble, and has a very competitive spirit. I cannot wait to see Nina in blue and white." Davy comes from an athletic family, as she will become the third member of her family to play college basketball. She is also the Athletics Board President of the Student Government.
Amaya Williams is a 5'5" point guard from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, NY. "Exciting is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Amaya," said Coach Reaves. "She has a great ability to score at all three levels and lead the team from the point guard position. She has been coached hard throughout her high school and AAU career and has never backed down. She is a tenacious defender that has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the court. And above all, she does it with a smile on her face and an encouraging word for her teammates." Williams is a member of the National Honors Society, a 1,000-point scorer, and was named the MVP of her high school team.
The Blue Devils are back home on Thursday, Jan. 7 and Friday, Jan. 8. CCSU will match up with the Bryant Bulldogs, who are currently 2-0 in conference play. Both games will tip of at 4:00 pm and stream for free on NEC Front Row.
