Blue Devils take down Fairleigh Dickinson 77-56
CCSU moves to 2-2 in conference play, as they cruise past the Knights.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team returned to winning fashion, with a dominant 77-56 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. CCSU took control in the second quarter and never let the Knights back into the game.The Blue Devils get back to .500 on the season (2-2, 2-2 NEC), while Fairleigh Dickinson falls to 4-4 and 1-3 in conference play.
Point guard Forever Toppin scored a season high 16 points and dished out 5 assists. Claire Sutherland-Case scored a career high 11 points. It marks the first time she has ever scored in double figures as well.
The Blue Devils shot 42.6% from the floor and led for over 30 minutes of the game.
Junior Lindsey Mack tried to keep the Knights in the game, scoring 17 points and went 4-5 from the foul line. The only other player in double figures for the Knights was Madison Stanley, who provided 11 points.
The Blue Devils snap a five game losing streak to FDU that dated back to the 2017-18 season.

The game started off as a back and forth affair. There were four lead changes in the first quarter. Each team led by four at one point, but no larger than that. The first quarter ended with CCSU having a 16-15 lead.

The flood gates opened up in the second quarter for the Blue Devils. CCSU went on a 15-0 run, which started from a pair of threes by senior Emma McCamus.

The Blue Devils then went on another big run to extend their lead to 45-27 at the half.

Ashley Berube started to get going in the second half. She scored 6 points in a row in the middle of the third quarter. The senior forward finished with 12 points on the night.

The Blue Devils outscored the Knights 17-12 in the final quarter and held on to their huge lead.
