Women's Basketball: Get to Know the Blue Devils
CCSU athletics is rolling out a new series to "Get to Know the Blue Devils." Despite sports competition being suspended during the fall season, CCSU student-athletes continue to succeed in the classroom and have an impact in the community. Through a series of questions and answers, CCSU fans and supporters can become familiar with many of the Blue Devils' student-athletes and learn who their favorite athletes are, what talents they have, bucket list goals and other interesting tidbits away from the field of competition.
This will be an ongoing feature throughout the semester, check back on our social media channels and at CCSUBlueDevils.com for updates.

Why did you choose CCSU?
CCSU not only preaches but truly implements the idea of family, that combination is truly special.
Is there anything interesting about you that you would like us to know?
I love nature and exploring the outdoors because there are endless hidden opportunities and magnificent sights out there, you just have to go out and find them. This passion developed after a mandatory weeklong "Wilderness Orientation" I experienced last year, where small groups of incoming students at my school spent five days backpacking the depths of the White Mountains, completely disconnected from technology. We hiked a total of 24 miles up and down the most intense trails, enduring things we never thought we could, and it was honestly the best week of my life.
What are you most looking forward to accomplishing at CCSU?
Honestly I am just pumped about being part of such a strong community. I want to immerse myself in the culture and be a part of something bigger than myself where I can help others rise with me.
Who is your inspiration and why?
My inspiration is not a person but the fact that my only limiting factor is fear. I can do anything if I can get past the fear associated with it.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
If it isn't going to matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5 minutes worrying about it or stressing over it.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment was scoring my 1,000th career point in high school. This was a really big deal to me because after years of working and pushing as hard as I could I despite countless setbacks I accomplished something that quite literally put me in history. This held a lot of weight because this benchmark was a result of my own hard work and determination and my own hard work and determination only, and for that I am immensely proud.
What are your future plans?
I want to be doing something that makes me happy and allows me to help others be happy as well.
What is one thing you learned about yourself during the pandemic?
I learned that I really value existing in the moment, tangible items and miscellaneous belongings are trivial and quite honestly undesirable in comparison to experiences and meaningful relationships. I also learned that I don't need anybody else to validate my actions or decisions, if they make me happy, they are good ideas.
Who is your favorite athlete to watch and why?
Debbie Black, she doesn't play anymore and there isn't really any film on her but she is the most passionate individual I have ever seen and it is not only entertaining but inspiring.
What's at the top of your bucket list of things to do?
I really want to either buy or make a camper van and take it on a series of camping/backpacking expeditions around the country
Besides playing your sport, do you have any other talents?
I am also talented at art such as painting and drawing
Do you have a favorite quote?
"If there's a will, there's a way." I don't know who originally said it but my parents say it to me all the time.
Who would play you in a movie about yourself?
I don't think anybody could really portray me super well because sometimes I can't even prepare myself or explain why I do what I do it just happens, ask Coach Stephens :).
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pineapple. It is hands down the best fruit, but also contains carbs and enough volume to serve as a meal. Furthermore, it can be both sweet and savory. It is healthy yet fully satisfying and is just all around the best food out there.
