Qualter Earns All-Region Honor
Freshman Conor Qualter has been named All-Region by the NSCAA.
Central Connecticut men's soccer freshman Conor Qualter has added a 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's All-North Atlantic Region Second Team selection to his list of postseason awards. Qualter was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year and First Team All-NEC at the conference's end of the year banquet on November 14.
Qualter was a force on the defensive end of the field for the Blue Devils in 2013, helping Central post eight shutouts on the year and capture the NEC Regular Season Championship.
The first-year player was an NEC Player of the Week selection once this year and is a four-time NEC Rookie of the Week. He scored a pair of game-winning goals in wins over LIU Brooklyn and Sacred Heart.
Qualter is one of two freshmen to earn a place on the All-North Atlantic second team with Saint Francis U defender Francis DeVries also earning a spot. No freshmen were named to the first team, which consisted of five seniors, four juniors and a pair of sophomores.
