
Men's Basketball Stays Unbeaten in NEC Play, Wins at Saint Francis U
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team remained unbeaten in Northeast Conference play with a 75-61 win at Saint Francis U. on Saturday in Loretto, PA. The Blue Devils erased a four-point halftime deficit and shot 56 percent from the field in the second half to pull away..
Allan Jeanne-Rose led all scorers with 24 points, while Jordan Jones and Tre Breland each added 13 points. CCSU shot 28-of-56 (.500) overall and was 6-of-20 (.300) from three-point range. Central was 13-of-22 (.591) at the foul line.
The Red Flash was led by Carlos Lopez who scored 21 points. SFU was 23-of-58 (.397) from the field overall and 7-of-19 (.368) on three-pointers. Saint Francis was 8-of-14 (.571) from the foul line.
The Blue Devils host Merrimack on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- Saint Francis opened the game's scoring with a foul shot, but then went nearly three minutes without scoring, while CCSU scored seven unanswered points. A pair of foul shots by Abdul Momoh put the Blue Devils ahead 7-1 at the 16:17 mark.
- CCSU would lead throughout the opening half. The Red Flash would hit 6-of-7 from the field, including 3-of-4 from the arc, and cut the deficit to 28-27 after a Chris Moncrief dunk with 2:49 left in the period leading to a Central timeout. SFU hit 10-of-11 from the field to close the half and used a 7-0 run to nudge ahead and took a 36-32 lead at the intermission.
- The Blue Devils scored the first seven points of the second half and regained a 39-36 lead following a three-point play by Momoh. The Blue Devils held the Red Flash scoreless for over three minutes to open the period.
- Central would extend its lead to 51-44 with a quick 5-0 run midway through the second half. A three-pointer by Joe Ostrowsky and a long jumper by Tre Breland pushed the lead to seven with 10:26 to play.
- The Blue Devils pushed their lead to double-figures on a three-pointer by Jayden Brown to make it 58-58 with 8:05 to play. The Red Flash would be unable to threaten the CCSU cushion down the stretch. A three-pointer by Allan Jeanne-Rose made it 70-56 with 3:32 left to match the final margin.
