
Men's Basketball Leads Wire-to-Wire in Home-Opener Win Over Framingham State
Six Blue Devils scored in double-figures and CCSU did not trail in the contest.
The Central Connecticut men's basketball led wire-to-wire and ran away from Framingham State in its home-opener with a 99-42 win on Monday night at Detrick Gymnasium. The Blue Devils had six players score in double-figures and shot 52 percent from the field in the win.
Kellen Amos, Jordan Jones and Jay Rodgers each had a game-high 13 points. CCSU shot 38-of-73 (.521) overall, while going 5-of-26 (.192) from three-point range. Central was 18-of-27 (.667) at the foul line.
Adonis Vashon scored eight points to lead the Rams. FSU shot 15-of-64 (.234) overall and 4-of-26 (.154) from three-point range. The Rams were just 8-of-18 (.444) at the foul line.
The Blue Devils play host to Manhattan on Sunday.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central scored the first 10 points of the game and would not trail in the contest. Jayden Brown had four points in the opening spurt, including a pair of foul shots to make it 10-0 at the 16:35 mark.
- After Framingham State made it 10-5, the Blue Devils would roll off 21 unanswered points to build a double-figure cushion. Allan Jeanne-Rose would spark the run with a dunk at the 15:13 mark as the CCSU defense would not allow a basket for nearly seven minutes. A three-pointer by Jay Rodgers would make it 31-5 with 10:28 left in the half.
- Central would lead, 48-11, following a three-pointer by Brody Limric before the Rams scored seven straight points to make it 48-18 with 2:08 left in the period. The Blue Devils would get a jumper by Tre Breland with 1:54 in the half and took a 50-20 lead into halftime.
- CCSU's lead would not fall below 34 points in the second half. A three-pointer by Tre Holloway with 2:56 remaining gave the Blue Devils their largest lead of the night at 97-38.

- Amos had 13 points with five rebounds, a career-best five assists, without a turnover, and three steals in 16 minutes.
- Jones scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting. He added four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Rodgers finished with 13 points and matched a personal-best with five rebounds.
- Jeanne-Rose scored 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. He is shooting .778 (21-of-27) from the field on the season.
- Breland and Abdul Momoh scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.
- Holloway grabbed a career-high six rebounds to lead the Blue Devils.
- Limric grabbed a career-high six rebounds and blocked a personal-best two shots to go with five points.
