Men's Golf Tied for Seventh at Wildcat Invitational
Mullen leads Blue Devils with 74 on day one
The Central Connecticut men's golf team sits in a tie for seventh place at the Wildcat Invitational on Monday. The second and final round will be played on Tuesday. The tournament is being played at the White Manor Country Club (par 71) in Malvern, PA, and is being hosted by Villanova University. Tuesday's round will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The Blue Devils shot a team score of 305 in the first round of the tournament, nine shots back of tournament leader Delaware (294). The Blue Devils were +21 in the first round. St. Joe's (295) sits in second place, followed by Drexel (297), Binghamton (300), LaSalle (301), Villanova (304) and then Lafayette and CCSU tied for seventh at 305. Rider, Lehigh, Wagner, Monmouth, Fordham, Bucknell, Manhattan and Canisius round out the 16 team field.
Senior Monte Mullen leads the Blue Devils with a +3 round of 74 in the first round including a team-best three birdies. He shot 36 on the front nine followed by a 38 on the final nine. He is tied for 13th place.
Sophomore Matt Hills shot a 75 (+4) and is tied for 20th place. Junior Connor Murphy fired a 77 (+6) and is tied for 36th place, followed by sophomore Nick Direda who shot 79 (+9) and sophomore Bryant Bolden who shot 80 (+9).
