Men's Golf Finishes T7th at CCSU Fall Invite
Blue Devils will play again Friday and Saturday at Bethpage
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place in the Annual CCSU Fall Invitational that completed on Monday. The tournament was hosted by the Blue Devils at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield, CT. It is a par-70 course.
The Blue Devils shot a day two score of 298 as a team, led by a 71 from freshman Anthony Sebastianelli, who had shot an 83 in the first round on Sunday. Sophomore Bryant Bolden and senior Monte Mullen each shot 75 on Monday.
Sophomore Jack Ayers fired off a round of 77 while classmate Matt Hills shot 79 on day two. Bolden was the top individual finisher for the Blue Devils with a two-day score of 147 (+7) to finish in a tie for 14th place. Mullen and Hills each tied for 27th (151, +11) and Ayers was 35th overall (153, +13). Sebastianelli finished in a tie for 36th (154, +14).
Central's two-day team score of 594 was just five shots out of the top-five for the two day tournament.
Boston College won the team title with a two-day score of 562, 23 shots better than second place Hofstra (585). Sacred Heart and Iona tied for third (589), followed by Boston College (B) at 590 and then St. Francis U at 591. CCSU and Laval University tied at 594, followed by Monmouth (599), Manhattan (614), Holy Cross (616) and St. Francis Brooklyn (699).
A pair of Boston College players shared medalist honors with a two-day score of 138, good for two under par. Nick Pandelena and Connor Greenleaf were two of just three players who finished the tournament under par.
Central returns to action on Friday at the Jack Glimmer Invitational at Bethpage Park (Red Course) in Farmingdale, NY. The tournament is being hosted by St. John's University.
