Mullen Tied for 3rd, Men's Golf 6th at NECs
Mullen moves to a tie for 3rd on Saturday
Senior Monte Mullen moved into a tie for third place overall and the Central Connecticut men's golf team moved to sixth place after the second day of the Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championship on Saturday.
Mullen fired a day two score of 72 to move into a tie for third place, just three strokes off the individual lead.
The Blue Devils shot a team score of 305 on Saturday, the third best team score of the day, and posted a two-day score of 617. Central is just three strokes out of the top-five.
Mullen's score of 72 on Saturday was tied for the second best individual round of the day, and he sits just three strokes behind the tournament leader heading into Sunday's final round of play.
Junior Jack Ayers shot 76 on Saturday and is tied for 19th place overall. Sophomore Matt Hills matched his round one score of 78 and sits in a tie for 21st place. Classmate Bryant Bolden shot 79 and is tied for 34th place. Junior Connor Murphy rounds out the scoring with an 83 on Saturday, he is tied for 36th place overall.
The third and final round of the championship will take place on Sunday.
