Men's Golf 11th After Day One at TDID Collegiate Invitational
Blue Devils will complete the tournament on Sunday morning
The Central Connecticut men's golf team sits in 11th place overall after the first round at the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational at Lake of Isles Country Club in North Stonington, CT. The tournament is being hosted by the University of Connecticut.
The Blue Devils shot a day one total of 320 and sit 25 shots behind tournament leader Hartford. The Hawks shot a day one score of 295 and lead the tournament by 12 strokes over UMass Lowell. Bryant (308) is third, followed by LIU Brooklyn (309) and Rhode Island (310). Central is just 13 shots out of second place.
Senior Monte Mullen led the Blue Devils and is tied for 13th place overall after shooting a round of 76 (+4) on Sunday. Sophomore Matt Hills, coming off a victory at Lafayette last weekend, shot 77 and sits in a tie for 21st place. Classmate Bryant Bolden fired an 80 (+8) and is in a tie for 41st place while sophomore Nick Direda and freshman Anthony Sebastianelli each shot 87 on the first day and are tied for 79th place.
Hartford's Will Betts leads the tournament with a score of 68 after the first round, good for -4. He is one of just two golfers under par.
The second and final round will tee off on Sunday morning.
