Men's Golf Vaults to 4th at Tuxedo Invitational
Sophomore Matt Hills shoots shoots 70 in the third round on Saturday
The Central Connecticut men's golf team climbed three more spots after the third round of the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils shot 301 in the third round, led by a 70 from sophomore Matt Hills. Central, who was in ninth place after the first round, shot the best score of any team in rounds two and three.
Hills fired the best round of the entire third round, shooting 70 and finished at 227 after three rounds, good for a tie for 10th place.
Senior Monte Mullen fired a 74 and finished in a tie for fourth place with a 223. Mullen was just five shots off the lead.
Junior Connor Murphy finished tied for 24th place after a 76 on Saturday. He shot 235. Freshman Anthony Sebastianelli shot 81 in the final round and finished in a tie for 36th place. Classmate Brandon Raine fired an 87 and finished at 250, tied for 42nd place.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Oct. 13-14 at the UConn Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, CT.
