Blue Devils Second at New Englands
Dan Fanion leads all Blue Devils.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished second after the first day of the New England Championships shooting a 304. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being hosted at Newport National Golf Course in Newport, RI. The Blue Devils are defending New England Champions from a year ago.
Central is ahead of Fordham University who shot a round one 306 and behind only tournament leader Hartford (302). The par-73 course is playing 7,244 yards long.
Leading the Blue Devils after round one was junior Dan Fanion who carded a day one 74 (38/36). He is tied for third individually.
Sophomore Daniel Morgan is tied for fifth on the individual leader board after shooting a 75 (37/38) on Friday. Senior Kevin Josephson shot a 77 (40/37) and is in an 11th place tie.
Tied for 13th individually is freshman Monte Mullen and junior William Finnerty. Mullen (39/39) and Finnerty (40/38) both penciled in scores of 78 on day one.
The second and final round will be Saturday, April 7th.
