Adams Cup Final, Men's Golf Tied For 9th
Finnerty and Josephson lead the Blue Devils to a 9th place tie with UConn.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in a two-way tie for ninth place at the Adams Cup of Newport. The Tournament was hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
After holding the eigth place spot in the tournament after day one, the Blue Devils tied with the University of Connecticut on day two of the 54-hole tournament. Rounds one and two were played on Monday, September 19th.
Central shot a 297 in round one, 290 in round two, and a 299 in the final round totaling a 886 overall score.
Junior William Finnerty and Senior Kevin Josephson were the top Blue Devils in the contest. Finnerty finished tied for 23rd shooting a 74, 71, and 75 (220). Josephson shot a 79, 69, and 74 (222) good for a 36th place tie.
Daniel Morgan shot a 77 in the final round and finished with an overall score of 222. Dan Fanion finished with a score of 224 and Monte Mullen with a score of 232.
The Blue Devils next event will be the Yale Invitational MacDonald Cup at Yale Golf Course in New Haven, CT.
