Men's Golf Wraps Play at Macdonald Cup
The men's golf team finished tied for 12th at the Macdonald Cup of Yale University.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished tied for 12th at the Macdonald Cup of Yale on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils who finished the first round in the same position were unable to gain ground on the field during Sunday's final round and finished with 595 strokes. Senior Kevin Josephson and junior Dan Danion were the top players for Central, finishing tied for 29th.
Josephson followed his opening round 74 with a matching 74 on Sunday to total 148 strokes for the weekend. Fanion reached 148 strokes with a first round 76 and a final round 72. Fanion's 72 was the best round for a Blue Devil in the tournament.
Sophomore Daniel Morgan posted a 73 and a 76 to total 149 strokes and finish tied for 37th. Juniors Monte Mullen and Will Finnerty finished tied for 59th and 65th, respectively. Mullen shot a 153 and Finnerty a 154.
Yale captured the team title with 565 strokes, Princeton and Dartmouth were right behind the Bulldogs. Peter Williamson of Dartmouth took the individual honors with a four-under, 136.
The tournament was played on the par-70, 6749 yard Yale University Golf Course in New Haven, CT.
The Blue Devils return to action on Monday at the Connecticut Cup hosted by UConn.
