Blue Devils Second, Fanion Third at Towson
Central finished round one of the Towson Fireline Invite in second place.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team wrapped up round one action at the Towson Fireline Invitational shooting a 290, just two strokes over par. Central currently stands in second on the leader board and only two back from the tournament's leader Northern Colorado (E).
Junior Dan Fanion led the Blue Devils in the first round posting a 69 (-3), his season low round score. He is currently placed third in the individual field and one stroke off of the leader. Fanion carded a jaw-dropping eagle on the 10th hole along with three first round birdies. He made par on every hole but the 7th and 11th where he bogeyed each.
Freshman Monte Mullen shot a day one 73 and registered two birdies in his first 18 of the tournament. He is one stroke over par and tied for 17th place individually.
Both senior Kevin Josephson and junior Daniel Morgan posted scores of 74 on Friday. The duo finished +2 to par and each stand tied for 25th on the individual leader board. Junior Ashley Crawford penciled in a 79 (+7).
The second round of the Towson Fireline Invitational will take place Saturday, March 31st.
