Blue Devils Finish 9th at Connecticut Cup
Fanion paces CCSU with 15th place finish
The Central Connecticut men's golf team shot a day-three score of 307, and finished in ninth place overall at The Connecticut Cup, which finished on Tuesday. Central was in ninth place following Monday's first two rounds, and maintained their place following the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The tournament was held at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, CT, and hosted by the University of Connecticut.
Junior Dan Fanion led the Blue Devils, finishing in a tie fo 15th place overall. She shot a day-three score of 74 to finish with a three-round total of 222.
Senior Kevin Josephson shot a 77, matching his second round score, and finished at 227, foor for a tie for 27th place. Junior William Finnerty shot a 78, giving his a 230 and a tie for 40th.
Sophomore Daniel Morgan shot a 78 on the third day, putting him in a tie for 67th place with a three-round score 237. Junior Matthew DeJohn shot a 91 and finished 84th.
Playing as an individual in the tournament, freshman Kevin Jud shot a 77 in the final round and finished in a tie for 40th place overall.
Sacred Heart won the team title, followed by Rhode Island, connecticut, Houston Baptist and Hartford.
The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday and Sunday at The Classic at Shelter Harbor, held at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Westerly, RI. The tournament is hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
