Men's Golf 9th of 16 at Connecticut Cup
Final Round to be played on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut men's golf team stands in ninth place out of 16 teams at the Connecticut Cup which started play on Monday. The first two rounds of the tournament took place on Oct. 10. The final round will be played on Tuesday.
The tournament is being played at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, CT.
As a team the Blue Devils shot 299 in the first round and then 305 in round two. Sacred Heart leads the tournament after a two round total of 580. Rhode Island, Connecticut, Houston Baptist and Iona round out the top five. Central is just nine shots out of the fifth spot after its two round total of 604.
Junior Dan Fanion leads the Blue Devils and is tied for 18th place after shooting 73-75, good for a 148. Senior Kevin Josephson shot 73-77 (150) and is tied for 24th.
Junior William Finnerty went 77-75 (152) and is tied for 35th. Junior Matthew DeJohn (79-78) and sophomore Daniel Morgan (76-83) rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils.
Freshman Kevin Jud, playing as an individual in the tournament, shot 77-76 and is tied for 42nd place.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with one final round at Ellington Ridge Country Club.
