Volleyball Falls at FDU in Four Sets
Isabelle Roufs and Mia Lombardo led the Blue Devils attack.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team lost at FDU in four sets on Saturday in Hackensack, NJ. CCSU won the opening set before the Knights stormed back to win the match.
Isabelle Roufs and Mia Lombardo each had 10 kills to lead the CCSU attack.
The Blue Devils will play Northeast Conference contests at Merrimack and Stonehill next weekend.

KEY MOMENTS
- The opening set was tied at 8-8 before a pair of Knights errors put CCSU in front. Larissa Hiemer would serve three straight points to put Central ahead, 14-10. The Blue Devils would push the lead to 20-11 following back-to-back blocks and then kills by Lombardo and Roufs. Roufs would serve an ace followed by an FDU attack error to close out the set.
- FDU rebounded in the second set by scoring seven straight points to build a 17-8 advantage. Louise Lion would score an ace to get CCSU within 17-12, but the Knights closed the set with eight straight points.
- The Knights would build a 13-6 lead in the third set after scoring five straight points. CCSU would not get closer than 23-17 following a kill by Weronika Poczynek before FDU would close the set with a kill.
- FDU scored the first six points in the fourth set and did not trail in the set. A kill by Isabella Bratzke sparked a run of four straight points to make it 16-9, but FDU would not allow CCSU to get any closer.

NOTES
- The Blue Devils lead the series 31-7 going back to 2002, but the Knights have won four straight matchups.
- Roufs had double-digit kills for the second straight match. She added seven blocks as well.
- Lombardo hit .308 and added seven blocks.
- Hiemer had 32 assists in the match.
- Lauren Milani had a team-high 18 digs for CCSU.
