Volleyball Drops Home Match to FDU on Saturday
Blue Devils will host Sacred Heart on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's volleyball team dropped to 6-12 overall and 2-4 in Northeast Conference play with a 3-0 home loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Knights improve to 4-16 overall and 2-4 in league action.
The Knights won the first set 25-19, the second 26-24 and came back to win the third set 25-23 to claim the league victory.
The Blue Devils were led by junior Makenna Lommori who had a match-high 17 kills in 53 attempts. Sophomore Nicole Dean added seven kills and had four block assists. Senior Rachel Dunlap had four kills to go with three block assists.
Junior setter Ashley Lenington had 26 assists to pace the Blue Devils offense. Sophomore Rachel Fish had 12 digs while senior Brittany Schumacher added 11.
FDU was led by Carly O'Sullivan who had a team-best 12 kills. Allison Butler had 33 assists and seve digs.
The Blue Devils are back in action again on Sunday at 1 p.m. hosting Sacred Heart.
