Volleyball Sweeps Bryant to Even NEC Record
The Central Connecticut volleyball team swept Bryant 3-0 on Saturday evening in Smithfield, RI.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team swept Bryant 3-0 on Saturday evening in Smithfield, RI. The Blue Devils improve to 8-12 overall and 4-4 in Northeast Conference play with the victory. Junior Makenna Lommori posted 21 kills in the victory. The Bull Dogs fall to 8-19 and 4-4 in the NEC witht he loss.
The Blue Devils won sets 25-17, 25-22 and 26-24.
Junior Ashley Lenington continued her strong play at the setter position with 44 assists.
The Blue Devils hit .278 as a team with Lommori leading the way with a .333 hitting percentage.
Senior Rachel Dunlap contributed nine kills, while sophomore Brooke Schwab and freshman Nicole Celarek each had six kills.
Schwab also led the Blue Devils with 12 digs. She was joined in double-digits by sophomore Rachel Fish (10).
Dunlap led the defense at the net with four total blocks, including a solo. Schwab and Lommori also contributed two a pair of blocks.
The Blue Devils will return to action next weekend at Robert Morris and Saint Francis U.
