Volleyball Sweeps FDU on Saturday
Blue Devils finish regular season on Sunday at Sacred Heart
The Central Connecticut volleyball team completed a three set sweep on the road at Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Blue Devils to 10-15 overall and 6-7 in Northeast Conference play. They will complete the regular season on the road at Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Devils avenged an earlier loss this season to the Knight but putting together a solid 3-0 victory on the road on Saturday. Central won the first set 25-14, the second 27-25 and then the third 25-19.
Central was solid on offense all afternoon, posting hitting percentages of .273, .226 and .341 on the three sets. They made just 13 hitting errors in the entire match.
Junior Makenna Lommori again led the offensive attack posting 19 kills and only four errors in 50 total attacks. She hit .300 for the match. Senior Rachel Dunlap added nine kills while sophomore Brooke Schwab had eight kills. Junior Ashley Lenington had 39 assists in the match to pace the offensive attack.
Defensively Schwab had 18 digs and sophomore Rachel Fish added 12. The Blue Devils had 18 block assists in the match, led by seven from Dunlap and four from Lommori.
