McLaughlin Named NEC Player of the Week
McLaughlin recorded two goals and one assist in the past two games.
The Northeast Conference honored the former 2018 Rookie of the Year, Roma McLaughlin, as the NEC Player of the Week announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
McLaughlin opened scoring in Central's 4-0 shutout over Iona (Sept. 5) and assisted the third goal scored by teammate Allyson O'Rourke. The Greencastle County Donegal, Ireland native tallied her fourth goal in six games scoring in the 88th minute against Siena (Sept. 8) sending the game into extra minutes and resulting in a 1-1 tie.
The sophomore co-captain currently leads the team and NEC with 9 points (4g, 1a). She's scored in the past three games and has already doubled her number of goals from her freshman season. McLaughlin has taken 13 shots on the year with a .308 shooting percentage.
The Blue Devils are currently 2-2-2 on the season and face Seton Hall on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. in West Orange, N.J.
