Women's Soccer Keeper Caity Casey Named WPSL Co-Player of the Week
Central Connecticut rising senior goalkeeper Caity Casey was named the Women's Premier Soccer League's co-Player of the Week this week. Casey, playing for SoccerPlusCT, posted 11 saves against the New England Mutiny and posted an assist on the only goal, as her team topped the defending East Conference Champions, 1-0. The WPSL is a 50-plus team national women's soccer league with five conferences and is considered one of the top amateur women's soccer leagues in the world.

Casey started eight games in her junior season with the Blue Devils
in 2008. She was 4-4 in those games with a 1.29 goals against
average and a save percentage of .780. She has six career
shutouts, including a pair in 2008. She also posts 13 career wins
between the pipes for the Blue Devils entering her senior season in
2009.
