Women's Soccer Shuts Out Sacred Heart at Home on Friday, 1-0
Junior Karise Hilt scored the lone goal as the Central Connecticut women's soccer team shut out Sacred Heart at home on Friday by the score of 1-0. Junior Caity Casey posted the shutout in goal for the Blue Devils who are now 8-5-4 overall and 5-2 in Northeast Conference play this season.

The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday at home at 1 p.m.
hosting Fairleigh Dickinson. Prior to the game CCSU will honor the
three seniors on this year's roster, Jill Kusek, Hannah Bromley and
Erin Herd.
The teams played a scoreless first half and each had three shots on
goal in the period. Casey made three saves before the break while
Sacred Heart goalkeeper Meghan Reichelt also had three saves.
Hilt scored the lone goal of the game at 79:12 in the second half.
After a failed clear by Sacred Heart Hilt dribbled the ball by
three separate Sacred Heart defenders and beat Reichelt to the
lower right half of the goal. It was her second goal of the season
and the eventual game-winner on Friday.
CCSU held a 20-8 advantage in total shots but just a 7-5 edge in
shots on goal. Reichelt finished the game with six saves in the
loss.
CCSU also held a strong advantage in corner kicks on the afternoon,
11-5.
Casey finished the game with five saves to post her second shut out
of the season. As a team the Blue Devils have now shut out nine
opponents this season, including four in league play.
The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday at home at 1 p.m.
