Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 at #13 Boston College on Sunday
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at #13 Boston College on Sunday afternoon. The loss, the first for CCSU in its last five games, drops the Blue Devils to 3-2-3 on the season. Senior keeper Erin Herd made nine saves in goal for the Blue Devils but suffered her first loss of the season. She allowed her first goal in over 510 minutes in the game after posting four straight shutouts.

goal for the Blue Devils but suffered her first loss of the
season. She allowed her first goal in over 510 minutes in the game
after posting four straight shutouts.
The Eagles scored the lone goal of the game in the 58th minute
after the two teams played to a scoreless first half. Brooke
Knowlton beat Herd for the games' only score at 58:11.
The goal was the first allowed for the Blue Devils in their last
five games after posting four straight shutouts heading into
Sunday.
Herd made nine saves in net for the Blue Devils but posted her
first loss falling to 3-1-3 this season. The goal was the first
allowed for Herd since the UConn win earlier this fall, a span of
over 510 minutes of action. She has five shutouts on the season in
seven total games, including three overtime games.
She has now allowed just two goals on the season.
The Eagles held an 18-6 advantage in total shots in the game,
leading to the 1-0 win. The also held the advantage in corners
with seven to only two for the visitors.
The Blue Devils will have the week off before returning to action
on Sunday, September 21 at Hofstra at 3 p.m.
