Sophomore Captain Clio Tregear Named Brine/NEC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Sophomore co-captain Clio Tregear was named the Brine/Northeast Conference women's soccer player of the week, it was announced on Tuesday. Tregear and the Blue Devils went 2-1 last week including a 2-1 victory at then #11 Connecticut on Monday night. The Blue Devils are 2-1-1 this season heading into this weekend's action at Navy where they will play Delaware (Friday) and Navy (Sunday).
Sophomore co-captain Clio Tregear was named the Brine/Northeast
Conference women's soccer player of the week, it was announced on
Tuesday. Tregear and the Blue Devils went 2-1 last week including
a 2-1 victory at then #11 Connecticut on Monday night. The Blue
Devils are 2-1-1 this season heading into this weekend's action at
Navy where they will play Delaware (Friday) and Navy (Sunday).
Tregear earns Player of the Week for the first time in her career
following a productive week for the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils
went 2-1 with victories over nationally-ranked UConn and
regionally-ranked New Hampshire.
The midfielder had a foot in every goal scored for CCSU during the
three games. She scored both goals in a 2-1 win over #11 UConn,
her first tallies of the season and gave Tregear the first
multi-goal game of her career. She assisted on the lone goal in a
2-1 loss to Vermont on Friday. The sophomore co-caption then
increased her point total by providing the assist in the 1-0 win
against New Hampshire.
Tregear now leads the team in scoring this season with a pair of
goals and a pair of assists, good for six points.
