Men's Track and Field Grabs Eight Top-10 finishes at UMass Flagship Invitational
Blue Devils have eight top-10 finishes.
The Central Connecticut men's track team competed in the UMass Flagship Invitational at the New Balance Center in Boston, MA. Sunday.
- Jacob Ireland ran a collegiate-best 8:25.05 to finish 3rd in the 3000m run.
- Yankarlos Diaz (8:32.00) and Salvatore Masciarelli (8:33.54) finished 9th and 10th respectively in the 3000m run.
- Edward Williams Jr. finished second (8.00) in the 60m hurdles and was the Blue Devils' Top Finisher on Sunday.
- In the 500-meter run sophomore transfer KyMoy Phillip finished in 8th place and ran a collegiate-best 1:05.82.
- The Central Connecticut 4x400 relay team consisting of KyMoy Phillip, Maxwell Czarnecki, Jonathan Orlando, and Gabriel Kwarteng finished in third place (3:20.37).
- The CCSU 4x800 team consisting of Ryan McCauley, Steven Baah-Mensah, Carter Harris, and Aiden Budge also took third place (8:04.11).
- Freshman Keith Townsend finished 10th in the high jump (6' 2.75").
The Blue Devils are back in action on January 20 at the URI Invitational.
