Men's Track & Field Snags Seven Top Finishes at the Wagner Invite
Men's track and field grabbed 18 top-three finishes at the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, competing in the first meet of the season.
The CCSU men's track team had a dominant showing at the Wagner Invite posting 18 top-three finishes including 7 first-place finishers.
- Tristen Burke ran a 6.93 in the 60-meter final to take home first place for the Blue Devils.
- Kymoy Phillip had a top finish (1:06:15) in the 500 meters
- Jake Ireland (1:56.72) and Aiden Budge (1:57.58) took home the top two spots in the 800m. Ireland also finished second (4:10.68) in the mile.
- Edward Williams Jr. took home first place (8.29) in the 60m hurdles and second (22.26) in the 200m. Kenny Agwu finished second (8.68) behind Williams in the 60m hurdles Uchechukwu Ajaegbulemh (9.39) for Central finished fourth.
- Eddie Nicholas (8:36.39) led a pack of three Blue Devils including Mark Rodriquez (8:55.22) and Calvin Young (8:56.54) who took home the top three spots in the 3000m.
- The 4x400 relay consisting of Maxwell Czarnecki, Kymoy Phillip, Noah Colangelo, and Uchechukwu Ajaegbulemh placed first with a time of (3:22.57). Johnathan Orlando, Ryan Newberry, Gabriel Kwarteng, and Keith Townsend finished in second in the 4x400 relay (3:22.66).
- Keith Townsend took home third place in the high jump (6' 1.25") and Logan Moore finished second in pole volt (12' 9.5").
- Tyrone Mack finished third in the shot put event (47' 6.5").
Men's track and field will be back on Wednesday afternoon, competing at the Bryant University Throws Competition in Smithfield, RI.
