Moore Named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week
Moore posted a personal best in the 5,000 meter race.
The Northeast Conference announced Robert Moore as the men's track and field rookie of the week on Tuesday afternoon. Moore ran a personal best in the 5,000 meter run resulting in a second place finish at the Ramapo College Season Opener last Friday.
Moore made himself the mid-season NEC leader in the 5,000m run. The first-year Blue Devil crossed the line in 15:26.66 crushing his previous collegiate best of 15:46.71. Competing at the 5K distance indoors for the first time as a collegian, Moore earned a silver medal for his performance. The Nutmeg State product is one of only two freshmen who currently lead the NEC in an individual event.
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team is back in action Saturday, Jan. 25 at the John Thomas Invitational in Boston, MA.
