Men's Track & Field Gives Impressive Showing at Wagner Invite
The team had 17 first through third place finishes at the meet.
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team opened the indoor season at the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, Jan. 3. The team competed inside the Ocean Athletics Sports Complex in Staten Island, NY. The team totaled 17 first through third place finishes in 12 different events.

KEY PERFORMANCES | RESULTS
- Sophomore Jason Walton won the 400 meter race with a time of 50.94.
- Senior Richard Grudzwick took home the gold after a 1:56.24 run in the 800 meter run.
- Senior Edwin Alston finished first overall in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.33. Rookie Richard Papa clocked in third with a time of 9.14.
- Senior Nana Kissi and freshman Leon Green came in first and second place respectively in the shot put. Kissi finished with a mark of 13.75 meters and Green posted a mark of 13.32 meters.
- Senior Kevorni Welsh had two second places finished in the high jump (1.85m) and triple jump (6.70m).
